You might recognize a couple beautiful faces in these pictures from Barclay Horner – they’re Kristen and Angie of Deckci Decor (that’s pronounced Deck-Ci) – ok, and Phil too! I had the pleasure of coordinating Kristen and Phil’s wedding last May 22nd at the Golden Valley Country Club. I have to thank Kristen for solidifying my obsession with the black, white, and yellow color combination. Kristen designed a beautiful room that used a bold color scheme, but at the same time it didn’t overpower the elegance of the country club. Phil and Kristen were awesome to work with – and can you say hot couple?! I am so happy that they welcomed their first child – a baby boy – this spring! Thank you again for the opportunity to work with you on your wedding and for sitting me with your hilarious friends at the reception!
As always, Barclay Horner did an excellent job on the pictures. Check out more pictures from their wedding on Barclay Horner’s photography blog

Isn’t she a stunner?!

About Decki Decor: Kristen and Angie’s company is a linen and decor rental company. They’ve got everything from chair covers and table runners to ceiling draping (as you can see here) and wedding coordinating. I’ve gotten to work with both of these ladies on several occasions and highly recommend them for their competitive pricing and also because I’m so proud of them for taking their business to the successful height that it’s at now. They’re focused professionals and I know I can count on them… Check them out!

If you’re not busy Saturday and in the Northwest Suburbs (or just want to take a drive) you should come visit the I Do Redo Sale and Bridal Expo at the Maple Grove Community Center. It’s got a little something for everyone in any stage of planning. For the thrifty shoppers, there will be a consignment sale of gently used wedding decor, design items, and some wedding attire. For those looking to book vendors, you can find everything from planners (me! come see me!), photographers, and florists to bridal yoga training, marriage counselors, a local rep for The Knot, and anything else you can imagine. There are only two vendors per category so you can spend some time talking with each of them and most of the time at bridal fairs you can get discounts on vendors (hint, hint). It’s $5 at the door or if you know one of the vendors going, check to see if they have free passes (I have a few left, email me if you’re interested). I’ve never done a bridal fair/expo before so I’m not sure what I’ve gotten myself into, but I’m excited to try it out. Hope to see you there!

If you haven’t picked up the latest copy of the Minnesota Knot Magazine, get thee to the store and do so!
What to look for…
ME! Ok sorry, not ME, but you’ll find fab.you.lous event design in the same ranks as many other ridiculously talented vendors that work hard to make their couples happy. We were all selected by our clients to win the The Knot’s “Best of Weddings 2010″ award and it’s an honor to be chosen and listed on the same pages as the other vendors. THANK YOU AGAIN, CLIENTS! Check out pages 14-17 and check out the list on the Knot website. You can also find an article on fab.clients Meagan and Jeremy’s November 2008 wedding here or on pages 123-126. (Don’t worry Mom and Dad, I’ve got your copy.)

My friend Heather was so excited for me she scanned in a picture of it and sent it to me as she was lucky enough to have her very own intricately planned and self-executed January 2009 wedding published in the magazine! Jessica of JM Photography (also a Best of Weddings 2010 winner) did a post on her blog here, and I stole a picture to show my dear friends Heather and Adam off. Get to know Heather as she is on of my fab assistants! Check them out on page 41.

And right NEXT to them on page 40 is Laura Ivanova Photography’s own published wedding (and ANOTHA Best of Weddings 2010 winner!)! She posted about it here on her blog. (I couldn’t get the picture to save so check out Laura’s blog and flip to page 40 in the magazine).
Even though you can peruse the website, pick up a real copy when you’re out. Nothing beats curling up to a cup of hot chocolate and reading about local talent. There are a ton of great weddings photos, inspiring designs by other Minnesota planners, as well as great planning tips from the pros. It’s a big deal for the pros to get published because it shows off their talent and let’s them know their hard work is appreciated. Happy reading!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend and took time today to appreciate all the veterans and people currently fighting for our country.
It was quite a busy weekend for me. Friday Kristen and Phil were married at the Golden Valley Country Club and they’re off on a three week honeymoon in Africa! Barclay Horner was snapping away all day and has already put up some teaser pics on his blog. Hot couple or what?! Kristen and her maid of honor, Angie, are the owners of Deckci Decor. It was great to see what Kristen dreamed up for her wedding and to see all their great decor items bring it to life.
Yesterday was Rebecca and Harrison’s turn to be wed in a traditional Jewish ceremony at the Lyndale Peace Gardens and an incredible reception at Solera downtown. I’m itching to see if photographer Noah Wolf will be throwing teasers up on his blog as well!
I was so thrilled to be a part of both weddings this weekend and now my feet are thrilled to be doing nothing at all. Have a great start to your week!

But with good reason! I’m working on a two-parter of Betsy and Josh’s September wedding, but in the mean time I had a fantastic wedding yesterday for Amber and Russ. To satisfy your wedding lust, I present the links to the two teaser blog entries for Jessica at JM Photography and Laura of Laura Ivanova Photography. The love between Amber and Russ was so tangible it was inspiring… and these two women caught that in the most beautiful moments of the day. It was an absolute pleasure working with both of you!

I hope this is an indication of how great 2009 is going to be!
