The next edition of getting to know me falls perfectly on the calendar with creating a Christmas list! Let’s consider this the fancy-things-I-want-but-don’t-have-such-a-fancy-budget-to-actually-purchase list. My real list includes things like gift cards or movies. But here I can dream big, right? I have a very eclectic palette when it comes to things I like to wear or carry – I go between Target fancy and wanting to deck out in all Burberry (so not in the budget).

It was suggested to me to let you know a bit about who I am. If you knew me a couple years ago, you’d have known that a girl like me had no problem gabbing away at personal things, but in the last couple years I’ve become a bit of a recluse – ok, that was dramatic. But a recluse in comparison to my former self. So, in an effort to share more about the woman you’re supposed to hire to plan your wedding (!), I invite you to look at a little bit of ‘me.’

I have the unenviable task of finding a dress for my sister’s rehearsal dinner – unenviable because WHO tries to pick out a dress during the holiday season with all the meals and parties and goodies?! This girl. As luck would have it, my sister and I have very similar tastes in dresses. Often times we’d shop in cities hours apart and come home for the weekend to find we had bought the same shirt in different colors (hers in blue and mine in pink). This time around it sounds like we picked out the exact same dress from Macys, only she purchased it first so I’m back to the drawing board.
While browsing through Nordstrom.coms, I found a few really cute dresses that would make the perfect short wedding dress (if you prefer some version of white or ivory) or could work if you need a dress on the quick for a reasonable price. Just thought I’d share. If my legs looked that good, I’d totally roll in a short dress like these. Enjoy!

I have a secret. It’s not a really big secret… but… I get ideas from other planner’s and designer’s blogs! Phew… glad that’s out. I have quite a few tricks up my sleeve, but inspiration to make things personal for each client comes from anywhere and everywhere. It is no secret with sites like Style Me Pretty and Snippet and Ink or Elizabeth Anne Designs, we’re all helping each other out with inspiration. My personal favorite place to draw inspiration is from photography blogs of wedding photographers. Many of the pictures used on the big bridal blogs are great, but a lot of them are straight from a Martha Stewart Weddings photoshoot and I like to see the real thing. Nothing puts you closer to the real thing then actual detail shots from incredibly talented photographers.
