fab.weddings: Rebecca + Harrison| Minneapolis, MN pt. I

August 10th, 2010

Rebecca and Harrison were married Memorial Day weekend 2009 (the same weekend as Kristen and Phil) and what a wedding it was.  I started working with Rebecca to from the beginning of their planning stages and loved getting to know her throughout the planning journey.  Noah Wolf was kind enough to send me some of the BEAUTIFUL photos he took of the wedding and  because I can’t possibly decide on only a handful to use, I’ll break this wedding up into two part.  First up, the ceremony!

Happy Memorial Day!

May 25th, 2009

I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend and took time today to appreciate all the veterans and people currently fighting for our country.

It was quite a busy weekend for me.  Friday Kristen and Phil were married at the Golden Valley Country Club and they’re off on a three week honeymoon in Africa!  Barclay Horner was snapping away all day and has already put up some teaser pics on his blog.  Hot couple or what?!  Kristen and her maid of honor, Angie, are the owners of Deckci Decor.  It was great to see what Kristen dreamed up for her wedding and to see all their great decor items bring it to life.

Yesterday was Rebecca and Harrison’s turn to be wed in a traditional Jewish ceremony at the Lyndale Peace Gardens and an incredible reception at Solera downtown.  I’m itching to see if photographer Noah Wolf will be throwing teasers up on his blog as well!

I was so thrilled to be a part of both weddings this weekend and now my feet are thrilled to be doing nothing at all.  Have a great start to your week!

fab.weddings: Amy + Russ

November 29th, 2008
I was ecstatic when Amy contacted me to help plan the rest of her and Russ’ 7.26.08 wedding. Amy and I (and 3 of her bridesmaids) graduated together from good old BHS and it was so exciting to reconnected and catch up AND to see her so in love! She had picked out her vendors and the bridesmaid dresses, but didn’t know what to do about the rest. We discussed the ‘feel’ she was going for and decided that pinks, purples, and a splash of green would go well with the burgundy/wine colored bridesmaid dresses and ivory she had chosen for herself. The result was a soft, summery, romantic reception with simple and clean decor that complimented a moving ceremony. Thanks so much for letting me work with you, Amy and Russ! It was such an honor and I’m so happy for you!

Lookin’ good, kids!

It’s all about the small details. Amy’s bouquet consisted of calla lilies, tulips, roses, pansies, heather, and eucalyptus seeds. The different flowers created great texture for the bouquet.

We decided the church was so stately that bringing in too many things would be distracting.

Programs I designed for the ceremony.
A beautiful picture of Amy with Lindsay, Alyssa (who I’ve known since Sunday School) and Bobbi (a.k.a. Inge, my Germany class buddy). Lovely ladies!
I designed and made the escort cards to coordinate with the able numbers.
Amy and Russ decided to skip traditional wedding favors and instead donate to http://www.pancan.org/ to support Amy’s grandpa who had passed away from pancreatic cancer. Amy had her florist create a memorial bouquet for the church with Pansies, her grandpa’s favorite flower.
It was as delicious as it looked!
I created a monogram for them that we used in their invitations, ceremony programs, and I painted a table runner for their cake table.
Amy and I decided white organza chair sashes on the white chair covers were a softer way to add to the room. Amy’s mother-in-law sewed burgundy table runners for all the tables.
One of the centerpieces. Simple bunches of large soft pink roses surrounded by small bunches of ivory roses and pillar candles. The favors were slid between the napkin and burgundy ribbon that matched the ribbon used on their invitations. The second centerpieces was three glass cylinders filled with submerged rose petals and floating candles surrounded by floating rose heads in votive candle holders and votive candles.
I designed a favor that shared a message from Amy and Russ over a pansy, Amy’s grandpa’s favorite flower. There was a favor at each guests place and they were able to take the cards home and visit the donation website and donate to the great cause.
Bridesmaid bouquets included green hydrangea, tulips, roses, heather, and eucalyptus seeds.
A first dance to kick off a great party!
