Anne and Suren hired me to coordinate their May wedding at the Calhoun Beach Club.  I have quite a few clients that are planning from out of state, and Anne interviewed me over the phone as she lives in Chicago.  It’s always hard to plan a wedding from a long distance and I was so happy to be able to help them pull everything together.  Anne and Suren had a traditional full Catholic Mass for their ceremony and their reception at the Calhoun Beach Club incorporated some Hindu traditions including a lamp lighting ceremony.   Their guests couldn’t get enough pictures of Anne in her gorgeous Sari and Suren in his shirwani.   The party started off when Anne and her father started out their traditional father-daughter dance and it busted into some serious booty-shakin by Anne’s dad.  The whole crowd was in laughter and it set the tone for a fun night.    Thank you again, Anne and Suren!  It was an honor!

I know EVERY good business blogger should take the time to schedule blog posts out in advance.  I have a good arsenal of posts started in my drafts that are started, but not finished.  The problem is I work full time – and plan for fab.you.lous event design full time.  Yep… I’m doing both.   Some things get pushed aside to focus on more important things… like sleep if I can fit it in!    Anyway, just so you know I’m still ‘getting work,’ here’s a tiny preview of what I’ve been working on this year so far… I don’t have pics from all the weddings yet.  If you have anything to share, send it my way!

I coordinated Susan and Per’s wedding at the Plymouth Creek Center and the Millenium Gardens in Plymouth on a beautiful Sunday afternoon last July.  Everything about their wedding was elegant and simple – just like they wanted it.  I loved the way Susan chose to use the damask with the green and how well she tied everything together.  The hydrangeas used in the centerpieces were home grown in a family garden and the music played at the ceremony was on a guitar played by Per’s dad.  Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your wedding, Susan and Per!

Susan and Per created fan programs using pictures of themselves for their guests to keep cool with.

A band created the perfect background music for the guests.  If you can swing it, go with live music.  I love it.

The guests each received a tree as a favor.

I was beyond thrilled to be hired to coordinate Jessica and Neal’s dual cultural wedding in Minneapolis last spring.  It was wonderful getting to know both families and I feel SO lucky to have been able to learn about Hindu weddings and culture.  We could not have asked for a more beautiful day or better families to work with.  Thanks for bringing me into your planning and for allowing me to find another part of this job that I love, Jessica and Neal!  (And congrats to them on their baby boy!!!)

The dessert table was filled with treats also made by a family friend and in coordinating colors.

I went to college the U of MN.  A giant school.  So I’d only heard from other friends through their experiences about the crazy closeness of some of the private colleges.  Carly and Paul met at St. Olaf and had themselves a classic Ole’ wedding.  I got to experience first hand the beautiful campus and how close and fun their Ole’ friends are.  Carly used to work with my sister and I heard all sorts of great things about her before we met and I had a wonderful time working with Carly and Paul to coordinate their 8.22.09 wedding in Northfield.  The day was absolutely gorgeous and you can see how happy they are to have each other.  He’s an engineer and a big congrats to Carly for finishing up her first year of med school in Duluth… This is just another wicked smart power couple in the making!

Thanks so much, you guys!  You’re my kind of people!  HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and I can’t wait to see you this weekend at J + G’s wedding!
