fab.weddings: Amber + Russ | Mounds View, MN

April 18th, 2010

This post is packed with detail shots from Amber and Russ’ 1.24.09 wedding.  When Amber and I sat down we hit it off right away with our gabbing.  I was thrilled to be hired to coordinate their wedding.  They had a blue winter wedding with pops of orange in the flowers and silver, glittery goodness everywhere else.  Ambers friend, Jenny, owned all the decor you see in these pictures and decorates for fun (or at least she did a year ago.  I tried to tell her to start making money with that stuff!) and graciously offered her decor services as well as floral eye to give Amber the winter wonderland she wanted.   It was fa-reezing and I got to go with the photographers (Jessica of JM Photography and her second shooter Laura Ivanova).  We were all so numb but it was SO fun to be able to help everyone out.  Thanks so much everyone.  My first winter wedding will always be one I remember and love.

Thank you to Jessica of JM Photography for catching literally EVERY detail from the day.  It’s so awesome when photographers care about the hard work the couple put into selecting those very details.

Shots between the ceremony and reception were SO worth it.  If this doesn’t at least get you to consider a winter wedding, I don’t know what would!

The tables were named after fun winter words and the butterflies were a special touch just for Amber.

I Do ReDo Bridal Expo this Saturday

April 15th, 2010

If you’re not busy Saturday and in the Northwest Suburbs (or just want to take a drive) you should come visit the I Do Redo Sale and Bridal Expo at the Maple Grove Community Center.  It’s got a little something for everyone in any stage of planning.  For the thrifty shoppers, there will be a consignment sale of gently used wedding decor, design items, and some wedding attire.  For those looking to book vendors, you can find everything from planners (me!  come see me!), photographers, and florists to bridal yoga training, marriage counselors, a local rep for The Knot, and anything else you can imagine.  There are only two vendors per category so you can spend some time talking with each of them and most of the time at bridal fairs you can get discounts on vendors (hint, hint).  It’s $5 at the door or if you know one of the vendors going, check to see if they have free passes (I have a few left, email me if you’re interested).  I’ve never done a bridal fair/expo before so I’m not sure what I’ve gotten myself into, but I’m excited to try it out.   Hope to see you there!

quick little hello!

April 4th, 2010

I’ve got no good excuses for being a blog slacker other than to say I should be better at keeping up with and scheduling posts.  I will leave you with THIS teaser… my sister’s wedding pictures are in and they’re gorgeous!  Until next time… get a look at that DRESS!
