fab.weddings: Emily + Adam
I was very happy to be able to coordinate Emily and Adam’s 5.24.08 wedding at the Como Conservatory. They hired me just two weeks before their wedding so we were quick to meet and get the details. My favorite detail of their day: the sloth! I thought she was joking when she said they were going to have a sloth, but sure enough, she was there! At the Como Conservatory you have the option to have some animals as part of the entertainment… and it was between the penguins and the sloth but the penguins, being quite popular, were already booked that day.
Their ceremony took place in the beautiful and fragrant Sunken Garden and their reception took place in the Bullard Rainforest Auditorium which overlooks the Bird Yard exhibit with lots of flamingos to watch. Guests were able to enjoy the cocktail hour on the second floor patio in the perfect early summer weather. It was an honor to be a part of their day and be in the presence of such incredible family members and friends. Congratulations Emily and Adam!

Emily and Adam chose a cherry blossom scheme to their wedding. The soft pink color of the graphic was tied in nicely with the chocolate and pink decor selections throughout the reception. Emily hand made all these beautiful programs!

They picked the perfect time of day to have the ceremony. Just the right amount of sunlight in the Sunken Garden mixed with the clear blue skies made for some fantastic photos.

Emily also made the escort cards by hand. The guests matched the color of the flower on their card to the color and name of the card at each table. She also added a fish, chicken, or carrot to indicate the different types of meals to the wait staff. It added a nice touch of whimsy

Queen of Cakes really did an outstanding job on both cakes. The groom’s cake was a replica of Emily and Adam’s dog and love of their lives, Grimace the French Bulldog. The detail on the dog was incredible and he got a lot of attention all night!
